Beginning March 1st, all breeding dogs, studs and females alike, will be required to have a negative Brucellosis test prior to any breeding or collection. This is a test that may be performed prior to arrival at our facility within the previous six months, but we now also carry in house test kits that we will run if not previously tested.
This is a change being made in an effort to better survey the incidence rate of Canine Brucellosis, and also to protect both dogs and people alike due to the zoonotic risk of Brucellosis. If you have any questions about Brucellosis or the testing requirements, feel free to call our office to have a discussion!
